Roof leaks have been blamed for a string of salmonella-related food recalls that have cost manufacturers millions of dollars in damages and lost income. Richmond Baking has taken a proactive approach to roof maintenance and food safety by installing a seamless built up roof coating membrane.

The result of the project allowed our facility in achieving accreditation with Safe Quality Foods (SQF), and satisfying many other third party auditors and inspectors. I fully endorse and recommend South Georgia Coatings to everyone.

Kelvin Wilcox of SGC Roof Restoration installed a fully reinforced Lexis EnergyGuard Butyl Elastomeric Coating on this aged built up roof.

As an added benefit, the reflective roof coating also reflected about 90% of the heat from the sun. The infrared image on the left shows the dramatic temperature reduction on the flat roof. Cooler roof temperatures mean lower cooling costs and reduced roof damage due to thermal cycling.
